Melanie Slater Jenkins

Hi, my name is Melanie Slater-Jenkins and I have been a practitioner at Chatterbox since November 2013. I am a single parent and have a daughter, Emily-Skye.

I became interested in childcare as a young child through helping out in my mother’s classrooms, where she is a teacher. When I was in my teens a babysitting client, who was a college tutor recommended a childcare course at her college.

I graduated from the University of Southampton in 2007 with a level 5 Foundation Degree Working with Children.

I have worked as a nanny, pre-school volunteer/committee member, team leader at a day nursery, deputy manager at a day nursery and creche manager/playworld supervisor at two leisure centres.

I am delighted to be part of the Chatterbox team and will enjoy supporting and witnessing each unique child develop their own independence, social skills, self-confidence and imagination as they learn through play and adult led activities.
